Simulating Germany
The following picture shows the result of a simulation of the highway
network of Germany:
The complete network consists of
- 1,000,000 cars with route-plan
- 75,000 km of road (lane corrected)
- 3,300 links
- 3,400 nodes
The simulation was done using a static origin destination matrix and with
the queue-model developed in the ZPR, which yields a very fast
simulation: it needed less than one hour to simulate one day.
